Reliable, timely and integrated air, sea and digital routes and on-Island transport
Connectivity is vital for tourism but also for our local economy and population.
To enable our tourism sector to be sustainable we need to invest in our infrastructure at both the Harbour and Airport.
Tourism is the second largest economic enabler in Guernsey and should be at the heart of Government strategic thinking for the future. Tourism has taken a proportionately bigger hit from the current pandemic.
Guernsey’s natural beauty and heritage should be maximised to its full potential. An example is the proposed rebuild of the Dairy which should incorporate a visitor centre, to describe the history and significance of the Guernsey cow, and an education unit.
55% of all air arrivals to Guernsey airport and 68% of all sea arrivals are tourists.
The Tourism sector has lacked significant long-term attention from the current States of Guernsey and investment in our infrastructure and on island facilities now needs to happen for the sector to revive and thrive.
We have a wealth of ideas and expertise in Guernsey and we need to capitalise on this.
On Island transport needs to be further integrated with more collaboration from all sectors.
