Education
Guernsey must aspire to provide every child with the opportunity to access a first class education, and that means good teachers, with a defined and attractive career path, able to teach from 11-18 year olds, and in schools that are fit for purpose with adequate facilities.
How do we achieve this – by consultation with parents, teachers and pupils. These conversations should be led by a group that has representation from across business and industry sectors, who will be employing these pupils in the future.
Open and transparent consultations to avoid additional costs.
All schools should have their own Board of Governors to enable each Head to have more autonomy in the daily running of each school.
Life long learning and apprenticeships are important especially with the effects of Covid and the need for re-skilling of some of our workforce.
